Waxing Comparison

Waxing vs Hair Removal Cream

Hair removal creams, also known as depilatories, have been a common method of hair removal for years. These creams use harsh chemicals, such as calcium hydroxide (slaked lime) and sodium hydroxide (lye) to raise hair’s pH level to break it down. This allows the hair to be removed from just below the skin’s surface. Waxing services remove hair from the root, and it does so without the use of harsh chemicals.

Waxing vs Shaving

When you use a razor to remove unwanted hair, you’re likely to experience quick regrowth within a few days. This is because shaving cuts hair only slightly below the surface of the skin. You may also experience uncomfortable red bumps and skin irritation known as razor burn. Because hair is removed from the root with waxing, you can enjoy bare skin longer, often with little to no skin irritation.

Waxing vs Epilators

An epilator is an electronic tweezing device that is similar to an electric shaver. However, rather than cutting the hair like a razor, an epilator plucks unwanted hairs out by the root. The epilator’s rotating head grasps multiple hairs simultaneously, removing many at a time. Although hair is removed from the root as it is with wax hair removal, this process is significantly slower and more painful than waxing.
